Albendazole associated psychosis

Rovoponek P, Rovoponek R. Albendazole associated psychosis Case Study and Case report. 2023; 13: 1 – 3. ABSTRACT The relationship between albendazole monotherapy and psychosis has not been proven in recent research. We discuss a case of acute psychosis linked to albendazole that has been documented. The patient's psychosis subsided after the drug was stopped and aripiprazole was administered, and in the months that followed, he or she did not require acute care. Albendazole's contribution to the aforementioned toxicity is supported by the temporal link and laboratory evidence. Although uncommon, such reactions can have a significant impact on patient care and may necessitate heightened provider caution when prescribing albendazole. Keywords: drug, albendazole, psychosis
