Subcutaneous cysticercosis: an accidental radioimaging finding
Wannroopthamthus K. Subcutaneous cysticercosis: an accidental radioimaging finding. Case Study and Case Report 2020; 10(4): 41 - 44.
ABSTRACT
Parasitic infestation is a common problem in tropical medicine. There are many kinds of parasitic infestation including to tissue parasitic infestation. Cysticercosis is an important cestode tissue parasitic infestation. This infection might be asymptomatic and silent. It is sometimes identified by radioimaging investigation. In this report, the author presents a pictorial case report on cysticercosis in an elderly. It is an example of accidental finding in Chest X-ray that is sporadically seen in tropical settings.

Tumoral Calcinosis of hip: MDCT and imaging findings
Paran T, Nemu T. Tumoral Calcinosis of hip: MDCT and imaging findings. Case Study and Case Report 2020; 10(4): 36 - 40.
ABSTRACT
Tumoral calcinosis (TC) is a rare disease characterized by large calcific soft tissue deposits occurring predominantly in the juxta-articular regions of the extremities. We report a case of TC located to hip with MDCT and MRI findings. A 48 year old male was referred for pain, swelling and cutaneous flow at the left hip. He was operated 8 and 5 years ago for pain and swelling of left hip previously. On physical examination limited range of motion of left hip and two cutaneous fistula were noticed. Multidetector row-computed tomography(MDCT) and magnetic resonance imaging(MRI) examinations were performed. On MDCT, multiple calcifications located in all muscles neighboring to left hip were detected. On MRI multiple globular soft tissue deposits located at the paraarticular muscles appeared hypointense in all sequences. On contrast enhanced images, a strongly enhanced mass was noticed in soft tissues outer these deposits. Also several fistula tracts elonging from this mass to skin were imaged. Serum calcium level and renal function tests were normal.According to these finding the diagnosis was TC. TC is a rare disease characterized by large calcific soft tissue deposits occurring predominantly in the juxta-articular regions of the extremities. Deposits consist of pleomorphic calcium phosphate (hydroxyapatite) crystals. On physical examination TC are noticed as palpable paraarticular masses without pain during the artıcular movement. Recurrence is common in the event of incomplete resection. Radiologic diagnosis is essential to avoid unnecessary examination and invasive procedure and to evaluate treatment.TC should be differentiated from other antities that causes soft tissue calcifications.TC should be kept in mind as a differential diagnosis in patients with a dense calcific mass in soft tissue.

Thyroid hemiagenesis
Özturk A, Akyol T, Kayali G. Thyroid hemiagenesis. Case Study and Case Report 2020; 10(3): 32 - 35.
ABSTRACT
Thyroid hemiagenesis (TH) is a very rare congenital anomaly of the thyroid gland with absence of a lobe. The accurate prevalence of TH is not known because the patiens are usually asymptomatic. Several studies showed that the prevalence of the TH in the normal population is 0.05–0.2%. In this report we present two patients with left thyroid lobe agenesis. The diagnosis of TH can be made by ultrasound (US) in most patients.

Acute hearing loss in a patient with COVID-19: A case report
Sánchez CC, Munayco CV. Acute hearing loss in a patient with COVID-19: A case report. Case Study Case Rep. 2020; 10(3): 29 - 31.
ABSTRACT
COVID-19 pandemic causes problem worldwide. This new disease is caused by a novel coronavirus. This disease has a wide clinical spectrum. Sometimes, the patient might be asymptomatic or present with an atypical clinical presentation. Here, the authors present a case with acute hearing loss and finally diagnosed to have COVID-19.

Ectopic liver tissue : incidental finding during a laparoscopic cholecystectomy
Jenard S, Riera C, Guerin E. Ectopic liver tissue : incidental finding during a laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Case Study Case Rep. 2020; 10(3): 24 - 28.
ABSTRACT
Ectopic Liver Tissue (ELT) is a rare condition mostly discovered incidentally during a surgery or autopsy. It is usually found around the gallbladder but other locations had been described since 1904 when it had been mentioned for the first time by Albert. This study aims to present a 54-yo-female with an independent ectopic liver tissue lying on the gallbladder but with its own vasculary supply and no connection to the gallbladder wall but also to review over this infrequent entity.

Case Study Case Rep. 2020; 10(2): 22 - 23.
ABSTRACT
COVID-19 pandemic is the important global public health
problem. The case study and case report on this new emerging disease is
important in clinical medicine. There are many new reports on atypical presentation,
diagnosis, treatment and prevention for COVID-19. Nevertheless, an important
aspect of COVID-19 that is little reported as case report is “No case”. In some
specific area and situation, there is no case of COVID-19 despite there are
numerous COVID-19 cases in nearby areas. The case study on “No case” of
COVID-19 is interesting.
